Joel Pilcher Art

My late night youtube rabbit hole diving brought me to Joel Pilcher. He’s some dude, according to his bio is located “In the Rocky Mountains”…. and he does wildlife art. Now wildlife artists are a dime a dozen and are all pretty similar. But what fascinates me about Joel is his choice of medium. He does large scale charcoal drawings on canvas. He also does acrylic and charcoal/acrylic mixed media, but his main medium is charcoal. And he makes it work! I think what he’s doing is ambitious, somewhat risky, and really just brilliant. It’s pretty refreshing to see someone doing something different in the wildlife art genre. I’m a big fan… check him out. https://joelpilcherart.com/
